Robin had worked with me and Russell on earlier albums and I was very glad when she agreed to improvise with us again. Of course, she has penned numerous songs and has performed and recorded solo albums and with many collaborators. She has a deep interest in devotional music, especially that of Hildegard von Bingen and her harmonic singing has been featured on her albums and others. She improvised these vocals shortly after her Father died and although the meaning may be extremely personal there is something truly universal about the feeling it leaves in me.
